In most cases, yes! However we do ask customers to allow up to 1 hours for the server to be correctly propogated and deployed. This is sometimes due to region availability, hardware limitations or unforeseen circumstances.
You'll be sent an email with everything you need to get started. We'll tell you where you go to access it, how you upload files to it and how to get connected using FileMaker Pro.
No, not BYOB, we said BYOL (Bring Your Own License). We setup the server, install FileMaker Server, monitor performance, configure safety measures and all that other fun stuff; but you must bring your own Claris FileMaker License to use Bevl Cloud. When you purchase a server from Bevl Cloud, you are agreeing that you own a valid Claris FileMaker license that is ready to install on your FileMaker Server instance. If you need help getting a FileMaker license, we're happy to help! Just get in touch.
Yes, absolutely we can! Just reach out to us and we'll be happy to help.
Bevl Software (Bevl Limited) is not part of Claris FileMaker and is not part of the Claris FileMaker Cloud product offerings. We are an independant company that is not owned or connected to Claris FileMaker in anyway. Read more about our disclaimers.
Bevl offers a FileMaker Server hosting platform. This means that it is our responsibility to make sure the server can be recovered in the event of a disaster (server malfunction, hardware failure, e.t.c.). As a result our backup policy is designed to protect the server itself, not the data that you hold on that server.
In the (very unlikely) event that your server becomes unsuable, we will restore it to it's original condition and get everything working the way it used to! This is offered as standard and does not require additional payment.
However in the event that you want to recover a FileMaker file from the previous day (perhaps a system user clicked a button they wern't supposed to), it is your responsibility to ensure you backup your files correctly in order to offer this functionality. We only offer FileMaker file recovery in extreme cases.
Of course, reach out to us and we will help you! If you need to talk to us about FileMaker file recovery or anything else, please reach out and we can help.
If you own your domain and would also like to use it for Bevl Cloud services, of course you can! Just please be aware that you'll need to install your own SSL certificate.
SSL Certificates are directly connected to the domain that they protect. As part of Bevl Cloud, we protect all domains (and sub domains) that sit under the bevl.cloud domain. Because you own your domain, we aren't able to manage the domain services (DNS) in the same way that we can with bevl.cloud. That's why you'll be responsible for your own SSL.
Absolutely we can! There will be a one-off charge of £30+ VAT to install a custom SSL certificate. We'll also provide instructions for you to point your domain to the server IP address. If you want to have a chat with us first, please feel free to get in touch.
Absolutely it is! When there is a new release of FileMaker Server, we'll be in touch within 8 weeks to book in your upgrade. Alternativly if you provide us acceptable 'downtime-days' (provided during setup questionaire), we'll automatically schedule the upgrade for a day in this period. We'll let you know when everything is booked in and completed.
Server downtime (a period of time when the server is offline) is only required for certain maintenance tasks; such as an upgrade to FileMaker Server or a security patch. We'll reach out to you if this is required, and won't go ahead until we have confirmation from you.
No. We offer storage amounts as part of a package solution (this makes it easier for us to scale our product). However if your business needs additional storage, please reach out to us to purchase additional storage packs for your server. Once a package is chosen, we'll do everything needed to get the additional storage online and accessible.
Unfortunatly not. This is beacuse FileMaker Server needs a certain amount of 'free-space' to perform certain tasks and actions. As a result, our server packages keep this in mind and cater for the space needed by FileMaker Server.
SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer and, in short, it's the standard technology for keeping an internet connection secure and safeguarding any sensitive data that is being sent between two machines (i.e. your server and your laptop).
This offers protection from unwanted parties reading and modifying any information transferred, including potential personal details.
You don't have to! We do it all for you! From the very first day of using your shiny new Bevl Cloud server, all traffic in and out of the server will be SSL 256 encrypted.
Not a problem! Feel free to use your own domain and SSL certificate with a bevl.cloud product. It just means that you'll be responsible for your own SSL maintenance.
Is the server actually available in 15 minutes?
In most cases, yes! However we do ask customers to allow up to 1 hours for the server to be correctly propogated and deployed. This is sometimes due to region availability, hardware limitations or unforeseen circumstances.
How will I know when the server is ready to use?
You'll be sent an email with everything you need to get started. We'll tell you where you go to access it, how you upload files to it and how to get connected using FileMaker Pro.

Can I decrease the storage to save money?
Unfortunatly not. This is beacuse FileMaker Server needs a certain amount of 'free-space' to perform certain tasks and actions. As a result, our server packages keep this in mind and cater for the space needed by FileMaker Server.
